At Mansell Overlook, the Property Management team has implemented a facility alteration material reuse inventory program.
During every construction/demolition project, the property management team recovers all salvageable material and stores it on-site for future Tenant Improvements and facility alterations.
Overview
Mansell Overlook is a campus of four class-A multi-tenant offices located in north metro Atlanta. The entire campus is operated and maintained by Jones Lang LaSalle Americas.
The property manager proposed the idea of LEED certification to the building owner as a comprehensive strategy to reduce operating expenses as well as retain and attract tenants. The management team worked with SIG LEED Consultants to register and certify all four buildings in 7-8 months – a notably short project duration.
To ensure long-term success, the property manager and building engineers all earned their LEED Green Associate Professional Credentials during the certification process.
This value-added step is optional and often overlooked by project teams who pursue LEED for superficial reasons.
By understanding the principals and intentions of green buildings, individuals who operate and maintain them can ensure that reduction of environmental impacts lasts beyond the required performance period and promotes a paradigm shift from the traditional skills practiced in their roles.
