Michael Bean

Responsibilities
Michael Bean is a member of SIG’s Engineering Team as a Senior Energy Consultant. His primary focus is on Energy Audits while also assisting in Commissioning and LEED projects.

Education
Mike received two Associate Degrees from Cuyahoga Community College for Architectural Construction Engineering and Building Engineering. Mike has continued his education to include a variety of credentials that include TRUE Advisor, Living Future Accreditation LFA, the Well AP accreditation, LEED AP O+M, and the BOMA RPA and HP accreditations.

Experience
Mike has a diverse background with experience in corporate property and facility management, energy efficiency, benchmarking, budgeting, implementation of capital improvement projects, wellness, and day to day operations. Previously, in his last role, Mike managed utility accounts and data for benchmarking through the Energy Star program, researched and developed a comprehensive recycling program for the corporate campus and was also an advising member of the Wellness Committee.

Interests
In his off hours, Mike enjoys cooking, kayaking, mountain bike riding and hiking. He is also a tree steward.

Fun Facts
Ever since visiting Italy in 2019, Mike is enamored with Italy and all things Italian! The food, the architecture, the history, the language (as of November 2022, he is on day 1040 of Duolingo Italian language learning lessons). Mike is also an avid cook (it’s how he met his wife!)
