SIG’s Top 10 LEED Projects for 2015

LEED Consultants Atlanta I Sustainable Investment Group (SIG)

1) 140 Broadway (LEED O+M Gold)

SIG worked with the Hines property management team first on a Gap Analysis and then applied for LEED for Existing Buildings application, performing Sustainability Consulting and Retro-Commissioning services. Located in lower Manhattan in New York City just a few short blocks from the World Trade Center site, the nearly 1.3 million square foot, 55-story building earned LEED Gold certification.

2) New Orleans Jazz Market (LEED BD+C: New Construction Gold)

Hired by Kronberg Wall Architects, SIG provided Sustainability Consulting and Commissioning services for the new home of the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra in the center city neighborhood of New Orleans, LA. The project is part of a larger revitalization effort in the neighborhood and rehabbed/reused a circa 1970s dollar store-type building. The project earned LEED Gold certification.

3) Georgia 400 Center (LEED O+M Gold)

SIG provided Sustainability Consulting and related Technical Services for this three-building suburban office part located in Alpharetta, GA. Originally attempting just the basic “Certified” level, the property showed significant energy performance with high ENERGY STAR scores throughout each of the three buildings as well as significant water savings. This allowed the property to earn LEED Gold certification.

4) Sustainable Investment Group’s (SIG) New Headquarters (LEED Gold for ID+C: Commercial Interiors)

Collin and the engineering team at SIG worked with ownership to achieve LEED Gold certification under the ID+C: Commercial Interiors rating system for the company’s new office. Highlights include energy efficiency upgrades such as more efficient lighting and occupancy sensors. The team worked with the General Contractor to achieve higher than a 90% diversion rate of all construction and demolition materials, and in addition to an air scrubber being utilized with a MERV 8 filter, only building products that contained zero VOCs were used in the space for improved air quality.

5) DCT River West (LEED Core + Shell Certified)

The 733k square-foot, speculative distribution warehouse is located just outside of Atlanta in Lithia Springs, Georgia. DCT Industrial purchased and developed the property with plans to pursue LEED Core + Shell Certified level certification. However, through significant energy-efficient features, usage of recycled content, regional, and low-emitting building materials, and with a full-team commitment from the beginning phases of the project to the end, their certification was achieved on October 12th, 2015.

6) 73 Tremont (LEED O+M Gold)

73 Tremont is a Class A office building in the heart of Boston’s Financial District. It is owned by Rosalie K. Stahl Trust, managed by Colliers International, and houses many facilities and offices for Suffolk University, including the school library and café, the University Welcoming Center, staff and graduate offices, the Suffolk television production studio, as well as a Citizen’s Bank. 73 Tremont earned LEED® Gold in the Existing Building Operations and Maintenance rating system.

7) Sanctuary Park Stonebridge II (LEED O+M v2009 Certification)

Jones Lang LaSalle manages the Stonebridge II building located in the Sanctuary Park office community at 1110 Sanctuary Parkway in Alpharetta, Georgia. The Jones Lang LaSalle team is led by the Vice President and Senior General Manager, Lauren Whitlock, and Building Engineers, Larry Dills and Darrell Emmons. Built in 2008, the property is home to 6 stories of multi-tenant administrative offices. The Owner’s vision for the building is to increase durability and long-term value of the property, and contribute to the overall sustainability initiative through LEED O+M v2009 Certification.

8) 750 7th Avenue

750 7th Avenue is a multi-tenant office building with retail on the ground level and is located one block from Times Square in Manhattan, NY on the edge of the Times Square Special Theater District. The 36-story, 620,000 square foot office tower holds offices for Morgan Stanley as well as the law firm Mendes & Mount.

9) Clarion Partners HQ (LEED Platinum® ID+C: Commercial Interiors v3)

Clarion Partners national headquarters achieved LEED Platinum® certification in the ID+C: Commercial Interiors v3 rating system. The U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED® green building program is the preeminent program for the design, construction, maintenance and operations of high-performance green buildings. The Clarion Partners office renovation encompasses the entire twelfth floor, approximately 50,000 square feet, of the Helmsley Building at 230 Park Avenue in New York City. The mission of Clarion Partners is to provide healthy, safe, and productive places, and their vision is to be a leader in responsible investing and stewardship of the environment.

10) Premier Plaza (LEED O+M v2009 Recertification)

Premier Plaza One and Premier Plaza Two are office buildings located in Atlanta, Georgia managed by Cushman & Wakefield. Built in 1987 and 1998 respectively, they are home to multiple tenants with professional and administrative functions. The Owner’s vision for the building is to increase efficiency, durability, and long-term value of the property, and to contribute to the overall sustainability initiative for the portfolio through LEED O+M v2009 Recertification.
