Sustainability Analyst

Responsibilities: 
Lauren is a Sustainability Analyst working on the Sustainability team. She supports project managers in achieving proper documentation by collecting and evaluating reporting data under various green building certifications. Additionally, she works on verifying sustainable best practices for certification compliance and stays up to date on green building practices.

Education:
Lauren is a third-year student at the University of Illinois – Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) studying Sustainable Design with additional minors in Earth, Society, and Environment and Landscape Studies. She will graduate in May of 2025.

Experience:
Lauren is an active member of the Illinois Solar Decathlon team at UIUC. She works on the Build Team, which competes in a two-year build competition held by the U.S. Department of Energy. The build team designs and constructs a sustainable home, implementing green building techniques and technologies, which then competes in ten categories related to green building practices. The team also works in partnership with Habitat for Humanity to eventually donate the home. Lauren currently works on the landscape sub-team, where she researches and then integrates sustainable landscaping techniques into the final design for the home.

Lauren is also on the Sustainable Design Student Advisory Committee at UIUC. She represents the students’ interests by regularly meeting with faculty to oversee the program’s development and growth. She also serves as a student representative of the program at various campus events.

Interests:
In her free time, Lauren enjoys reading, baking, watching movies, and listening to music. Above all, she enjoys spending quality time with friends and family.
