Responsibilities:
Esmeralda Arteaga is a Sustainability Analyst for the Sustainability Team. She supports project managers by collecting and evaluating data for proper documentation under different certifications (LEED, WELL and Fitwel). She also verifies sustainable best practices for certification compliance and assists in researching emerging green building technologies.

Education:
Esmeralda is a fourth-year student at Illinois Institute of Technology, where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Architecture and a Master of High-Performance Buildings with a minor in construction management.

Experience:
Prior to joining SIG, Esmeralda spent a summer in Limuru, Kenya studying sustainable architectural practices as well as cooperating in forest restoration projects with EDU Africa. Esmeralda also participated in a Design+Build architecture project that demonstrated passive sustainable strategies based on client requests and has conducted analysis of energy building models in studio projects.

Interests:
For leisure, Esmeralda enjoys sketching, creating messy physical architectural models and spending quality time with her family.
