Chloe Kiernicki is a member of the engineering and ENERGY STAR team at Sustainable Investment Group (SIG) as an Engineering Analyst. Her main responsibilities include assisting with commissioning testing, supporting LEED projects and applications through processes like energy audits, while also assisting with indoor environmental quality tests, with things such as indoor air quality. Also she assists with Energy Star walkthroughs, and the synthesis of the information needed to give a building a specific Energy Star score.
Chloe is in her final year of her undergraduate studies at Georgia Institute of Technology, where she is studying Architecture and earning minors in Global Development and International Affairs. She has a long term goal of using this background to work in low-impact design.
Chloe has former experience in the architecture field with Guangdong Urban Planning and Design Institute in the Summer of 2019, where she worked as an intern focusing on integrating biofiltration design in public plazas. In the summer of 2020, she researched with RWTH Aachen University, where she focused on the connection between urban agriculture and urban development. Since 2019, she has researched the reuse of wind turbine blades in structural capacities through Re-Wind, a project out of Georgia Tech and partner universities in Ireland.
In her free time Chloe loves to garden, experiment with different growing methods, and take walks through Atlanta. She also enjoys sewing and editing clothing to extend their lifespans.
