Charlie Cichetti: MAC Business Person of the Year Finalist
Atlanta, June 12, 2015 – Co-Founder and Principal Charlie Cichetti was named a finalist at the Metro Atlanta Chamber Business Person of the Year award ceremony in the Emerging Entrepreneur category. This ceremony celebrated Atlanta’s most outstanding small business innovators from all industries, ranging in categories of early stage, emerging, and experienced entrepreneurs. The Emerging Entrepreneur category included business owners who have owned their business between three and seven years, show solid business foundations with clear goals for future growth, and inspire potential innovators looking to start their own businesses.
“I encourage all entrepreneurs to apply, go through the process, and be kept on their toes – the 3 minute elevator pitch and then Q&A round with the 10 judges kept me on my toes and really made me think.” – Charlie Cichetti
Charlie has over 13 years of experience in the fields of construction, real estate, project management, and LEED consulting. The skills that he developed working in these fields came together in 2009, when he and Co-Founder and Principal Jason Kiefer created SIG. Today, Charlie oversees daily operations at the Atlanta office, integrating the skills of the training, consulting, and technical services teams on projects tailored to the specific needs of a diverse customer base. Charlie’s outstanding managerial practices have drawn attention as well: the Atlanta office has been named a Best Place to Work by the Atlanta Business Chronicle for the last three years.
In addition to his acumen as a manager and a LEED professional, Charlie has generated significant growth in the Atlanta office from his acquisition of the LEED exam preparation company Green Building Education Services. Charlie acquired GBES in 2014, doubling his LEED advising potential through the combination of GBES’s expanded teaching opportunities and SIG’s consulting business platform.
